True Jobs ("we", "us", "our") operates the thetruejobs.com website (the "Service"). This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal data when you use our Service.
Account Information: When you create an account we collect your name, email address, and a securely hashed version of your password. We never store passwords in plain text.
Search Data: We store your job search queries (keywords, location, work mode) and the resulting job listings so you can review them later.
Resume Data (optional): If you choose to upload a resume, we extract the plain text from the file and store it along with automatically-identified skills, job titles, and seniority level. We do not store the original uploaded file — only the extracted text (up to 50,000 characters) and derived metadata. Your resume text is used exclusively to personalize job matching and AI-powered features within your account and is never shared with other users or sold to third parties.
Application Tracker: If you use the pipeline tracker, we store the job details and status notes you enter. This data is private to your account.
Usage Data: We track daily search counts and monthly API usage for rate-limiting purposes. This data is tied to your account.
Payment Information: If you subscribe to a paid plan, payment is processed by Stripe. We do not store your credit card number. Stripe may collect information as described in their privacy policy.
When you use AI-powered features (resume bullet rewrites, interview prep, LinkedIn outreach, or cover letter generation), relevant portions of your resume text and the job description are sent to Groq, our AI inference provider, to generate the response. Groq processes this data under their own privacy and data processing terms. We do not send your name, email, or account details to Groq — only the resume text and job content needed for the specific request.
Your resume text is transmitted to Groq only when you actively invoke an AI feature. It is not used for model training.
Job search results are automatically deleted after 14 days. Expired sessions are purged periodically. You may delete your search history at any time from the dashboard.
Resume data is retained until you delete it (Settings → Resume → Remove) or delete your account. There is no automatic expiration on stored resumes.
Application tracker entries are retained until you delete them individually or delete your account.
If you delete your account, all associated data — searches, jobs, sessions, resume text, application records, and usage records — is permanently and immediately removed from our systems.
